Working with Peter Fitschen has been the best decision I have made when it comes to not only competing, but becoming more healthy (mind and body) and flexible in my life. In 2012 I trained for and competed in my first figure competition. The prep process was extremely hard on me mentally and emotionally – I felt restricted in my diet as I was told to eat the same meals every day, eat at the same time every day, and to avoid anything processed. I isolated myself from all social situations that would tempt me to go off plan, I was waking up in the middle of the night to get another meal in, and I was constantly stressing and obsessing over my meals and weight. As a result, I had major binges, I was unhappy and hated the sport of bodybuilding, and I developed different food intolerances that took months to overcome.

A year later I decided I wanted to try again, but this time I wanted to do my research and find a coach who was educated in the nutrition aspect of the sport, who understood lifestyle balance, and who wouldn’t restrict me and subject me to long bouts of cardio. Peter was recommended to me through multiple coaches in the sport and after emailing back and forth with him, I confidently decided to hire him as my coach. From the beginning, he was honest and thorough about his personal experience competing in the sport and coaching, about his background and education, and about his process. He bases all of his recommendations on evidence and research and is willing to teach his clients about the process so that we understand and aren’t merely following his suggestions blindly.

Before and After

Before and After

I cannot thank him and Amy, his wife, enough for everything they have taught me. They supported me throughout the entire process, during my high points and low points, and they always responded to my questions and concerns within hours. This season while working with Fitbody and Physique LLC I earned my IFPA pro card in figure in my second ever competition. I prepped with high amounts of food and a low amount of cardio, and was genuinely happy throughout the entire process. I was able to enjoy holidays and special occasions while staying on my plan, and gained the support of my friends and family who previously weren’t on board with my desire to compete. I continually made strength gains in the gym even as I was cutting food, and had a huge sense of confidence and accomplishment leading up to, and during, my competition. I am looking forward to working with Peter still as I prepare for my pro debut and can’t wait to see the progress I know I will continually make both in the gym and with my physique. I don’t think I would’ve achieved my goal as quickly, nor would I still be wanting to participate in this sport, if it weren’t for the great experience I have had with Peter and Amy and I highly recommend them to everyone who asks me about my contest prep and transformation!
